Most of our nights in Norway were overcast and we were expecting rain. Except for this one time... That night I felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve. Checking the Aurora app religiously and setting an alarm every hour to look out the window. With no luck I decided to give it up and head to bed. It’s 1:11AM. I wake up to Zach & David knocking on our door. “Guys it’s happening! Get up it’s happening!” I roll out of bed with blurry vision and slip on my coat as quickly as possible. I reach for my camera and run outside. It was happening. At first it was faint. Like a light grey fuzz drifting in and out of vision in the sky. And then suddenly it turned to a neon green. We watched as the lights danced in different directions. Changing shapes and shifting in a way that seemed to almost be rehearsed. I sat in complete awe shooting handheld and with freezing cold feet. This was my first time seeing the Northern Lights from land. ( first time was from a plane ) And man was it a magical experience.
