Tuesday’s inspiration: CASA WABI by architect Tadao Ando in Puerto Escondido, Mexico 🌵 “The name Casa Wabi was adopted from the concept ‘Wabi-Sabi’, which represents a vision of the world focused on the acceptance of the ephemeral and the imperfect, the art of finding beauty in imperfection, in the accident and depth of nature.” — Carla Sodi, Director of Casa Wabi Fundación Casa Wabi is a non-profit, civil association thats fosters an exchange between contemporary art and local communities in three locations: Perto Escondido, Mexico City, and Tokyo. The name originates from the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, which seeks beauty and harmony in the simple, the imperfect and the unconventional. Casa Wabi’s mision is focued on forging social development through the arts, which we carry out through five key programs: residencies, exhibitions, clay, films, and mobile library. Casa wabi is located on the Pacific coast, 30 minutes from the Puerto Escondido airport, Oaxaca. Set between the mountains and the sea, the headquarters have been designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando and under the initiative of Mexican artist Bosco Sodi.
