From the archives. When I visited Lesotho it reminded me of Iceland in some ways. I noticed that, like Iceland, there are not many trees or forests in Lesotho. It is green, however, but all very low lying. In Iceland they have a joke that goes: if you ever get lost in an Icelandic forest, all you need to do is stand up! The same could apply in Lesotho:-) Also, Lesotho has a highlands area, like Iceland. Then, during the winter, when the mountain peaks are covered in snow, it is uncanny how similar the two landscapes are, yet formed in completely different ways. Also, as mentioned in the previous post, Pack mules are used everywhere in Lesotho to get food and supplies to where they need to go.
