I had the unbelievable honor to represent the entire cast and crew of West Side Story at the 12th Annual Advanced Imaging Society’s Lumiere Awards yesterday. West Side Story won two Awards - Best Musical Scene or Sequence for “The Dance At The Gym” and Best Motion Picture - Musical. To be able to speak about how powerful movie musical representation and acknowledgement is - how dance and choreography is the heartbeat of our film - was really meaningful to me. To be able to thank Steven Spielberg and to share a tiny bit of how much this project meant to me - to all of us. How unique -how singular - how once in a lifetime. I say it often - but I mean it always - im incredibly honored and incredibly grateful. .
