The bar we set for our kid’s mental and emotional well-being is high! It’s about time we set ours at the same place. I remember laughing with friends about the nagging mum guilt and rollercoaster of anxiety we were experiencing. We laughed with relief because the stories we shared resonated so hard. We didn’t feel alone and that felt good. Was that just how it was going to be now? For the rest of our lives? No 🙌🏼🙌🏼. It doesn’t have to be this way. Just because it’s common, it doesn’t need to be your normal. Mum guilt, anxiety, low confidence, low self-esteem, people pleasing, overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, routine anxiety, lack of self-care, low mood, lack of headspace…. All common. But would you say to your kids if they experienced these things….‘ well my love, this is life. Suck it up’. No!
