Hey everyone, it’s been a long time coming but my new film is finally in development. Some of you know how long we’ve been trying to get this off the ground. It’s finally here, we just have one final push that needs your help. Currently, we have 70% of our film funded, and we need a final push of $15K to bring it to life. This short is the first step to realising Tumba Del Mar as a feature film that encompasses a larger story, including the past and future of our characters. If you can help out, link is in bio! I was the first in my family to be born in Miami and my identity has been shaped by the immigrant stories shared by my parents, amongst many others. Tumba Del Mar offers an opportunity to shed light on an important piece of Cuban-American history, and to connect immigrants and natives across the globe. It presents a universal and timeless story that bridges audiences across borders and languages. When Fidel Castro passed, we saw on our screens parades of celebration, news anchors reporting the reverberations of his regime, and yet we saw nothing pointing to the psyche of Cubans who were left with unresolved trauma, having been forced to leave where they came from. Your donation will ensure that we can translate the words to the screen as intended, and continue to speak to an underrepresented audience during a time when immigration remains an arduous and traumatic process in our American society.
