WHO ARE YOU ADVOCATING FOR?
A Sunday Service Protest, Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Coachella.
97 Days Prior, on January 14th, 2019, we called out Kanye West from the front row of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman after he spewed Me Too conspiracies, misogynoir, toxic hate rhetoric and expounded white supremecist beliefs that went consistently unchallenged.
Knowing that harm given any platform, let alone Kanye’s, Letterman’s, and Netflix’s reach, will grow into violence, we spoke up. We spoke up in January of 2019, we spoke up at Coachella of 2019 and we continue to speak up each and every day since with our work in the Classroom of Compassion.
Classroom of Compassion has been about creating spaces of care, compassion and remembrance for the communities that have been most harmed by acts emboldened by hate speech, white supremacy, anti-Semitism, misogyny, and Racism.
To all who continue to speak truth to power, we stand beside you. To all survivors and victims of abuse, we see you and validate you. To all the Black women continuously silenced who spoke up long before we did that day, we see you, we hear you and most importantly, we believe you. To all those in pain from grief and injustice, we hold your pain too, we see you and honor you.
I hope u know how loved u are. I hope u know how much u mean to the world.
