It’s been 371 days and counting... ⠀ ⠀ From being coined the cause of COVID-19 by racist remarks while sacrificing our lives on the front line to the most recent murders and hate crimes this week among the community, yet we are still told it’s not our time to speak, we are complaining too much, and even being ignored from our cries because we are “statically insignificant to matter” to our “leaders.” Unfortunately, this wasn’t only happening in the last year. This past month itself though has had the AAPI community on/offline trying to cope, reflect, and collect our shattered hope and hearts over and over again. 😣😔 Disheartened so much that even during the happiest time of year for us (CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR), I didn’t feel comfortable to share our celebrations as much as I’d like because of the amount racism and hate crimes that were increasing day by day. It is heartbreaking and devastating to see the generations and minority groups that are being still being targeted and neglected by a country we call home.⠀ ⠀ WE ARE NOT OKAY!🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️⠀ ⠀ However, I still have hope and believe that we can all live in harmony and learn to love each other as human beings just as much we love each other’s food and cultures. 🙏🏻✨ ⠀ The HATE🚫and RACISM🚫 that was once LEARNED can be UNLEARNED.⠀ If they were able to learn the former, then the LOVE💕 that hasn’t been TAUGHT can be LEARNED as well.⠀ ⠀ Let’s celebrate, uplift, and be kind to one another.🙏🏻💛⠀ Does stress eating pretty cakes count an option of coping?⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ SWIPE for Shareable Resources for AAPI and Allies
