Today the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline launched. 📲 9-8-8💛 Wow. It’s been one hell of a week. This month I begin my healing journey. This journey is for myself to open wounds from my childhood trauma and all the trauma I have endured these past 27 1/2 years. I started with being able to express and talk about my feelings. So I’ve been talking to many folks about myself. As a “man” we are taught to hold all our feelings in. I know In order to do the work I love to do, I need to start this healing journey on my own time and with my own accord. I would be lying if I said I never had suicidal thoughts, but hey who hasn’t thought about it. I’m saying this to let everyone know it’s okay to talk about it. Especially “men” because all men need to learn how to heal themselves through all their traumatic experiences. Men need to learn how to heal themselves. Thank you all for being here for me during this tough week and throughout my entire life where you all have seen me grow in so many ways. I’ll check in with all of you soon, but sending a huge reminder to youth and folks to reach out if you want to just talk on the phone. 🫶🏾
