I have been working throughout the pandemic but not wanted to post much. I came across this picture today and felt the need to share this beautiful man with our industry. This is Milton Williams... the sole person responsible for launching our business and I believe hugely responsible for the creation of the event business as it is today in Los Angeles and maybe throughout the country. Milton was the most handsome, charismatic and talented caterers creating events for celebrities and royalty in Beverly Hills. My mother was addressing envelopes almost 60 years ago for .25 when Milton saw one....contacted her and asked her to create two invitations. My mothers response was “I have no idea how to do that” to which he replied “trust me I can tell...you will figure it out”. The events were for Danny Thomas and the other was the Max Factor family and was the start of my mothers career becoming one of the busiest designers and then planner in LA. They would go on to create some of the most iconic weddings and events with the help of Harry Finley and Fred Gibbons ...two talented florists from Texarkana who started Flower Fashions...band leader Bernie Richards and Karl Levine from Abby Rents. Milton, Harry and several others were our family and there are so many amazing stories to be told.
