Join us for The Chupacabras Car Club‘s 20th annual Pistons & Paint car show Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022. Live music, cool cars, cool tunes and instant photography collide for one of our favorite annual meet-ups & PolaWalks! As always, all cameras welcome! $10 per person to enter the show, children age 10 & under = FREE. The annual car show is at the very photographable North Texas Fairgrounds in Denton (the home of the North Texas State Fair & Rodeo — note: this is NOT at Fair Park in Dallas). The show features “1972 and older American made Cars and Trucks. Classics, Customs, Lowriders, Trucks, and Hotrods. Live Music, Vendors, and Food” P&P is hands down one of the best car shows for photographers because they feature only “1972 and older American Hot Rods & Customs only” and the cars are parked in rows in an open grassy area instead of surrounded by visual clutter, tents and sponsors’ banners, etc. Over the years, we’ve even seen several photographers bring along their own models in period-specific attire. ; ) Meet-ups before PolaWalking through the rows of cars at 8:30 a.m. (sharp) for the early birds near the red-and-white restrooms (between the vendors), then we’ll meet up several times near the DJ booth/stage at 10:30 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. IFS members will be snapping frames throughout the day, but know that each year we’ve been in the past, cars start rolling out about an hour or so before the awards presentations then another wave of cars leave just after the awards, so, don’t show up too late, or you’ll miss some of the coolest vehicles. Live music/ Full P&P schedule: 8AM – Gates Open 10:30AM – DJ Trigger Mortis* 11:30AM – Two Bit Swing Band 1PM – Squeeze Box Bandits 2:30PM – TBA 4PM – Awards Presentations 5PM — PolaWalk ends 6 PM – Show Closes Parking: “Gates open at 7AM for vendors and 8AM for show vehicles. No earlier. Be patient and we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone.
