Physicians face a high rate of burnout, which has been further compounded by the demands of the Covid-19 pandemic. Between increasing patient loads, short-staffed hospitals, increasingly bureaucratic insurance requirements, it’s hard to fit in time to take a mental break. Caring for yourself is just as important as caring for patients. For me, I find that being outdoors has an incredible rejuvenating effect.
