The AFTRS documentary, One in a Million, contrasts the ocean’s pull with the importance of CPR in saving lives. The film highlights Dave Winner, a surf lifesaver who, after decades of teaching CPR, was rescued through CPR himself.
Director Dylan Nicholls said about the film:
“Dave Winner is a Coalcliff CPR instructor who suffered a spinal cord injury during a fatal surfing accident in August 2021. After being revived by CPR, Dave made it his mission to teach free CPR to one million people by 2030. In this scene from One in a Million, Dave’s two mates recount the events that unfolded on that fateful day.”
