One of my favorite books in recent years is Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. A few weeks ago, I visited @dunlinauberge for 48 hours of fun on the Kiawah River. Surrounded by birds and marshland, I felt a bit like the novel’s lead character, Kya, only swathed in the shell pink and sea-green gingham goodness of @amandalindrothdesign beautiful interiors. The reason for the trip was to meet Alice Naylor-Leyland (of the chic and hugely popular British table and homeware brand @mrsalice ) who was introducing her new Carolina Collection, inspired by the property. This is their first collection ever shot in the United States 🇺🇸 and what a dream to be there to celebrate its launch over a long candlelit dinner on The Dunlin’s screened porch, surrounded by so many new faces and friends including @mollyfienning @stephaniesummersonhall @tominmalton @juliaberolzheimer @daisycave @marionblount @lilarubensteinn and more. I loved chatting with Alice about all things summer entertaining, from her favorite recipes and linens, to the seasonal joys of dining al fresco and clipping flowers from her garden. There was even some sage tablecloth advice shared from Mrs. Alice’s mother and Director of Design @serena_fresson 💝 Ultimately, this new collection — available online @mrsaliceshop now — is a British love letter to the Lowcountry, and the warm, welcoming hospitality of the American South. “We wanted to create a table that really spoke South Carolina to us,” she said. “There’s so much color, but at the same time it’s demure and feels a bit effortless, which I think hosting should be.” You can read the full story online @galeriemagazine ! ✍️📝 A big thank you to @megconnollycomm @dunlinauberge for inviting me and for your warm hospitality 💝💚
