I cook with my kid because it keeps me sane Yup, her interruptions while I cooked, used to drive me crazy: 🤦🏿‍♀️ She would constantly yell “Mama, mom, mommy” 🤦🏿‍♀️ The TV/Ipad/Dad/Her kitchen set, could never keep her attention 🤦🏿‍♀️ And at times there would be a meltdown/tantrum Cooking was just such a chaotic time and I didn’t understand why until I took a step back and realized this girl just wanted my attention and an activity she was actually interested in So I started including her to to meet both needs and cooking is such a great time now 1️⃣ She’s so excited to “Help me cook” 2️⃣ We build on her vocabulary and math skills because I explain what we’re doing 3️⃣ She’s open to trying new foods despite being a picky eater 4️⃣ Nyla's tears/tantrums while cooking, is no longer a trigger for me 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 (The baby is another story) GRANTED, It does take a much longer time to cook, and it’s a messier, and sometimes the food is a little saltier because she over seasons from excitement, but it’s actually fun for me So If I’m in a rush or don’t want her sneezing in the food, I will make sure to get it ready before she gets home Anywho, do you cook with your kids? What’s your favorite thing to make? #Cookingwithtoddlers #Stayingsane #momproblems
