Retired from information-technology work in the oil and gas sector, Cathy Feehan wanted to make a difference. What she discovered was something "monumentally different than what I did before." Now in her second year of volunteering at the Alberta Children's Hospital, Feehan's role is to offer support to parents. "Everything from cuddling babies to getting toys to going for walks with kids." The shifts, she finds, are truly rewarding. "Knowing that you made someone's life easier," said Feehan. "That's it right there."
