Project of the Week: Nestled on one hectare of land with olive trees, the ancient 300-year-old ruined farmhouse, partly destroyed by a fire in 1995, was acquired in 2005. The French owners called on renowned Swiss architects @WespideMeuronRomeo, to renovate and rethink the building as an exclusive holiday home ancient. After 4 years of work, the house has retained its heritage-listed exterior as well as its window openings, the roof has been replaced in the traditional way.
Here old meets new, sometimes merging, sometimes contrasting. The interiors completely refurbished, are minimalist, flooded with light, and resolutely contemporary. Interiors feature white plastered or exposed stone walls, smooth concrete floors, neutral colors, combined with signature furnishings from international designers.
With a surface area of 320 sqm, Casa Olivi has an open-plan living space on the ground floor including a lounge with fireplace, a dining room, a kitchen equipped with a central stainless steel island, an office and an independent bedroom. Connected by a staircase, the other 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are distributed on the first and second floors.
The exterior includes a large terrace with a pergola, an outside cooking area with a Japanese grill, a dining area, a summer lounge and a large solar-heated swimming #pool with stunning views over the azure blue of the Adriatic to the horizon. There is the possibility to book a chef for meals, yoga classes, wine tastings, mozzarella-making classes, truffle hunting, and a Defender all-terrain vehicle to explore the surrounding area. 📸: @casaolivi #architectanddesign
