Global image authority Getty Images has released the Black History & Culture Collection, a collection of photographs that contributed historical context to our exhibition ‘BLACK VENUS by Aindrea Emelife’, a survey of the legacy of Black women in visual culture. The Black History & Culture Collection initiative was created to provide free, non-commercial access to thousands of historical and cultural images of the African/Black Diaspora from the 1800s to present day, empowering visual storytellers to create works that educate audiences on Black history.
