Welcoming a new alumni exhibition, #SCADMOA is ecstatic to announce Michael Ezzell’s “Inferno on the Mantel,” opening this Thursday, Nov. 10. The works on view are presented against a dreamy, hand-painted cloudscape — a recurring motif — created specifically for the exhibition. Combining classical elements found in architecture and painting, Ezzell defines a surreal language anchored in mythological, art historical, and decorative sources, ultimately creating narratives that examine theories of existence.
