Chef Suchanan Aksornnan, also known as @ChefBaoBao of local restaurant @Baoburg (614 Manhattan Avenue) emerged as the winner of a recent episode of Chopped, the popular Food Network show. As the self-described “queen of noodles,” Chef Bao Bao wowed the judges with her creative takes for the competition - a mini ramen burger stuffed with meatballs, Surf n' Turf fresh noodle rolls in sweet and sour sauce, and noodle churros baked Alaska parfaits. Baoburg first opened in Williamsburg in 2013, before moving to Greenpoint in 2016. The cozy space with details like a fish tank, Thai music and movies playing in the background, Thai condiments, and an outdoor space with a tropical vibe briefly transports you into vacation mode. And while the various noodle dishes are certainly worth visiting the restaurant for, its namesake the baos (warmed fluffy steamed buns stuffed with delicious meats and sauces) are finger-licking good. Personal favorites for your humble Greenpointers narrator are the delectable Roti Canai with yellow curry sauce, Hanoi noodles with shrimp, short rib ramen, and ‘Khao Soi’ fall of the bone duck leg confit with chewy curry ramen noodles. Follow @baoburg to stay up to date on fun events like pop-up chefs table and more! #supportlocalbusiness #womanownedbusiness #greenpointers #greenpointbrooklyn
