Happy Tuesday Bookdragons📚🐉, how did Monday treat you guys?
🐦The Direction Of The Wind - Mansi Shah🐦
This is the story about finding yourself. It has so many emotions. Sophie loses her mom when she was 6, allegedly to a car accident. Then her father passes away when she was 28. Having no other family, she has no choice but to go along with her 2 aunts’ plans of getting her married, eventhough she is financially independent, being an accountant. Why would a 28 year old woman who has a job must listen to her aunts, you ask? Because Sophie is I’m India and she was raised traditionally. So regardless of how smart, capable and financially independent she was, she must marry and do what her husband wants, which in this case is to be a wife and a mother
Closer to her wedding date, Sophie finds letters from her “dead” mother, that were posted from Paris, AFTER her alleged death, among her father’s things. Sophie has a choice, stay in India and be subservience to a man or go to Paris, find her mother and be free and independent and most of all, be her true self.
I loved the dual POV in this one. We get to see Nita (Sophie’s mom) and her life as she goes where the wind blows her, and Sophie’s. This book brought on so many emotions! And it was beautifully written. Sometimes you need to leave your comfort zone to discover yourself
Thank you @suzyapprovedbooktours and @mansishahwrites for my gifted copy ❤️
QOTD: Have you done something outside your comfort zone?
Does having a child counts?
I hope you guys are having a wonderful day! My life is full of chaos these days because of a huge personal thing which I’ll tell you guys soon! Don’t forget to drink water and snack while you read. Stay Safe and Warm ❤️
