Here’s a little selection of my all-time favorite YA fantasy books, plus some I’ve recently read and loved. • The Dagger and the Flame by @CatDoyleAuthor : this is book one in the City of Fantome series, and it saved me when I was deep in a reading slump. I adored this romantasy following two main characters, a thief and an assassin, in rival gangs. Their dialogue is so well written, and The Rebel and the Rose (book two) is just as great. I can’t wait for book three. • Heir of Storms by @Lauryn Hamilton Murray : this YA fantasy romance was such a great read. I went in completely blind and had the best time. There are trials, a kind-of love triangle, and I loved seeing the touching relationship between the FMC and her brothers. I will definitely continue this series. • Legendborn by Tracy Deonn: I feel like this series needs no introduction. Even though it's YA, it doesn't read YA. I loved the writing and how it gives a modern-day twist to a classic legend. It tackles racism, grief, bigotry, and so many other important topics. The characters have so much depth, and l can't wait for book 4. Every book in this series is phenomenal, so you really can't go wrong with this series. • The Glittering Edge by @Alyssa Villaire : I was lucky enough to read an e-arc of this book and have been recommending it ever since. This story gives you a small-town setting, a family curse, witch covens, slow-burn romance and amazing main characters. This book truly has a special place in my heart and I can't wait for the sequel, The Neon Sky, that will come out this year • Songlight by Moira Buffini: This is a very refreshing YA fantasy dystopian story that I devoured. It has strong The Handmaid's Tale vibes and touches on religion, self-acceptance, and friendship; among so many other important topics. Book 2, 'Torchfire', is already out. • An Ember in the Ashes by @Sabaa Tahir : I picked this up the moment it came out because the author's name is so similar to mine and l've never regretted it. It's still one of my favorite YA fantasy book. The character development is beautiful and I loved the multiple POVs. #fantasybooktok #booktok #bookrecs #yafantasy #favoritebooks
