Congratulations to my truly lovely colleagues at Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar for doing the almost impossible of yesterday launching yet another website and the open call for the third edition of the annual Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project and Single Image Awards. The open call is the heart and soul of Tasweer, a biennial photography festival that we launched in 2021 celebrating photographers from the Western Asia and the North Africa (WANA) region. The next biennial program will be announced soon and will happen in Qatar next spring and will be a really amazing congregation of photographers, photographic projects and conversations about the possibilities the future holds. The open call is for all photographers currently living in the WANA region and all info and submission forms is on our new website tasweer.org.qa.
