thirty minutes before the western states start, i told mike that I believed i could run 18:30. i didn’t look at the time on my watch after mile 50, until this moment. when ya know, ya know. my crew did it all for those 18 hours and 32 minutes, though. they adorned my ice pack with cute fruits, cleaned my dirty feet, put ice in every crevice, sprinted through foresthill telling me sweet-nothings, warded off a bobcat on cal st, and kept me always wanting more. it was an out of body experience for the last 4 hours yesterday (as was the 100m sprint for my dad😅), and i’ll be replaying it for a while. @shitinthewoods @dmitrijournist @sarahccummings @annacfisher_ @mattmmitch @chace.tal @kleugs @meg_runs_happy & my pops- love you all to the ends of the earth. same time, same place next year? & to all the volunteers, the race organization, the media team, and all the support from far and wide (especially @womenofthewasatch_ 🥹) - THANK YOU! this is the best community in sports, and i’ll never be convinced otherwise.
