🥚 Senfeier mit Kartoffeln I was watching Kleo (it’s so good!) and got inspired to make German eggs in mustard sauce with dill. They never actually showed it, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how good it sounded. It’s really fast, especially if you happen to have hard boiled eggs already. I lean more on my Swedish roots, but this one’s for my grandfather, Christian Siecke from the town of Siecke, just south of Hamburg- real, old-school German comfort food 🇩🇪 🥚 I’ve been having trouble finding inspiration to cook, so maybe I’ll meld my tv-watching with cooking. What have you seen on tv or the movies that inspired you to cook? Taking suggestions. Here’s the recipe: Hard boiled eggs, cut in half 2 Tbs butter 3 Tbs gf flour (AP flour prob same amount) Make a roux by melting butter, adding flour and stirring on medium heat 3 minutes 1.5 C chicken or veg stock .5 C heavy cream Slowly add liquids, whisking over low heat Add: 2 Tbs mustard 2 tsp lemon juice Big pinch sugar 1/4 tsp salt Whisk. Adjust for consistency. Add more stock if you prefer it thinner. Taste for salt and lemon (and add more mustard if you like it stronger) and add pepper.
