Behind the scenes of my most recent shoot & collaboration with @stanley_brand. The ask? A dreamy picnic that compliments the pattern of their newest Oasis Collection. When styling picnics - I typically think of the final image and work backwards. This includes multiple sketches and mockups although I can’t show it here. A natural linen tablecloth was chosen to draw focus to the cups. I do typically like pattern-on-pattern but when styling product-focused shoots or picnics, it’s important to find a balance. For this specific picnic, I wanted a taller table to elevate and give more room for the cake and tarts. I chose scalloped plating as I thought the contrast with the stripes would be quite pretty. Not visible but inside the cups was iced matcha. A beautiful and delicious compliment to the pretty pastel cups. I absolutely love styling and capturing tablescapes and picnics. It’s a skill that carried over from my work as an art & video director.
