💥 34 and never felt better 💪🏽!
Last year was one of the hardest years for me. Like most people during Covid, I struggled emotionally and physically. Around this time last year, I lost my grandma and finally took the time to give myself to mourn her passing. I’m certain she had a happy life. In addition to other types of losses throughout the year and being separated from my daughter Amelia, this was most difficult for me. I knew then, I needed to start taking care of myself again.
This leads to why I’m posting these self portraits. Second to last slide, that was the beginning of when I decided I would start to eat healthy and workout. As well as working on my mental health and return to my happy self I once used be; always smiling > 😬
So, I wanted to share with you my journey and a progress photo of where I was in August and where I am now. First 3 months I ate clean, regularly worked out at home, and conditioned so I could start breaking again. I started to see progress and continued to stay active. Hiking, dancing, working out with friends helped to keep myself motivated and also seeing the people around me being physically fit pushed myself even more. I also started to eat whatever I wanted again so I could maintain and gain weight.
The journey continues though and I’m not yet where I would like to be. I can say I think I’ve been the healthiest in my life. I gauged this by hiking Koko head the other day and I wasn’t tired when I finished at the bottom 😅 while carrying my dog on some parts of the stairs. For those who have done it before, you know the struggle!
Anyways, I’m looking and feeling great! Hope everyone has a wonderful day! cheers! 🥂🤙🏽
