Our very own @countessofcampari recently had the opportunity to head to Puebla, Mexico, home of the Poblano chili fields of Ancho Reyes. Watch to see just a few highlights from her trip and a few fun facts we bet you didn’t know about chilis below... 1. The Poblano chili name means “from Puebla,” (and it’s also what you call a person from Puebla), so it is a “chili from Puebla”. 2. There’s a Poblano Pepper fair that happens every September in Puebla to celebrate and sell the chili harvests. 3. The chilis on the bottom of the plant are the first to show because they are closer to the soil nutrients, chilis on the top of the plant ripen quicker because they are closer to the sun. 4. There are five volcanoes around the area that contribute nutrients to the soil of the region. 5. Each plant grows about a dozen chilis throughout the duration of its 9 month growing season. #Campari #Camparista #Puebla #AnchoReyes
