Share with a parent who might need this reminder. When A.Mari first started climbing, I had the urge to stop her. Why?! Because I WAS fearful of her hurting herself. But instead of discouraging her from climbing altogether, I guided her on the correct way to climb. I was always being there to catch her if I saw her start to fall. Now this girl climbs things that I would’ve label for “big kids” and she has no fear in doing it at all. Even this simple example shows that if I had put my fear onto her she probably wouldn’t have a love for climbing. I would’ve limited her and as parents we should never do that.
