After a decade (to the day!), it’s bittersweet saying goodbye to my first magical little home. It gave me exactly what I needed at a point in my life that I needed it the most: a safe space to call my own. The night escrow closed, I got the keys, ran over to the empty house by myself, and cried of happiness. The previous owner had left me a bottle of wine and the sweetest note. I’ve always remembered it. It said “This is a happy home. Everyone who walks into it feels it. In this house, I found love - first with myself, and then with my husband. I hope it brings you all the joy that it has brought me.” It did all of that and more. I will deeply miss it, but it’s time for it to bring someone else that joy. Thank you, Dorrington, for everything. We will miss you! But to the other side of the hill we go! 🤍
