I had **the C Word** this past summer. It took out my entire family of 6 for a solid week. Yes, even the girls (ages 3 and 4). We barely could take care of each other let alone care for our kids so we slept, a lot! Obviously we recovered ok but there is a lingering effect of hair loss and it’s freaking me out. So I’ve been doing to some reading and this is what I’ve got so far.... Researchers have found that people with a history of **c word** infection are four times as likely to develop hair loss than those who were not infected. They are unsure as to WHY this triggers hair loss. The hair goes through three phases — a growing phase, a transition, and a resting phase, also known as the telogen phase which is when hair falls out and the follicle repeats the whole process. Only 5% to 10% of your hair should be in the telogen phase at any given moment. But with this type of loss we are see 30%! There is nothing you can do to stop the loss caused by **c word**. There is no magic shampoo or supplement that will prevent it. However, we can focus on internal health for strong, beautiful hair when it does grow back. If in fact if it’s really freaking you out like you think you may need a wig, you can always see your doctor to see what they recommend. My consensus? Eat healthy foods, hydrate, and wait it out. I just hope this does not last longer than the 6 to 9 months they say it takes to go back to normal. If you have had **c word** hair loss, how long did it last for you and did it grow back to normal?
