Food guilt comes from what you believe not what you eat đ
This morning I was thinking about a time where being on holidays and eating foods I wouldnât normally have would bring up so much food guilt.
I used to worry about the calories in food and the sugar in drinks, and how my beliefs about the certain food would have a negative impact on my body.
Food guilt happens for a few reasons including your beliefs around what the food may do to you, comparison about what others are eating, having high standards for how you should be eating or from the influence of diet culture labelling foods âgood and badâ.
Experiencing food guilt and worrying about my body changing took away so much from my life and especially so many beautiful experiences when on holidays.
The good news is that healthy your relationship with food IS POSSIBLY and you can FIND FREEDOM from guilt around food.
Food guilt is a common struggle I see with my clients when it comes to their relationship with food and their body and itâs important to remember food is just food and normal eating isnât ever perfect. Unlearning beliefs around what the food may do to your body and your relationship with your body changing is key to find freedom with food.
Healing your relationship with food is one of the best things you will ever do for your life and relationships.
