I had heard comments like this about roles like the genie in Aladdin many times before... So I didn’t think much of it. Then I listened to the cast recording and it was unlike anything I had ever heard before. It was what I had been waiting for in a musical.” What advice would you go back and give yourself on Day 1 of your #StrangeLoopBway journey? “Expect things to change. Your time with the show and character will evolve as you begin to grow and see things differently. Feel comfortable evolving without fear of it affecting your work.” What will you miss most about your time with #StrangeLoopBway? “The world of discovery that I was able to live in throughout this entire process. Everything was about me figuring out the business, becoming a professional actor and also figuring out how to be an adult on my own. In 10 years, I imagine I’ll look at things with a little less innocence. I’ll miss the mindset of just being able to go with the flow because I’m learning that in this business, you can’t really do that. You have to protect yourself.” What do you hope the legacy of #StrangeLoopBway will be? “I hope that people remember the barriers that were broken and the heart that this show had. Everyone can have their own opinions, but at the end of the day, there’s real heart in this show. You may not understand it, but it’s there and it exists.
