When converse hit me up for this collab , it inspired me to Create work that would uplift ma sprit. After all, I was coming to terms with the reality that after four difficult years of college, I was going to have to graduate on zoom. But I couldn’t stay sad- so I built this little set on ma block in Bushwick. For many black folks, a comb is a material embedded with both pain and beauty.And yes , there was a lot of pain, I made this work in the midst of civil unrest and protest, yet I still aspired for a colorful future. I really wunna thank ma best friend @illinoize for making me feel and look beautiful during our shoot. Thank you Jaq and @katiusciaa for making clothes that brings joy to people, clothes that has the ability to transcend people past their troubles.
