The Color Is — an exhibition created by Internationally acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist Nick Cave @nickcaveart and his brother fashion designer Jack Cave @jackcaveinc will bring a once-in-a -lifetime collection of avant-garde and haute couture inspired fashion to the Roundhouse of the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center. @dusablemuseum 🟩 Opening August 27, 2022, continuing through November 27, 2022, in partnership with @mcachicago and the groundbreaking retrospective exhibition “NICK CAVE: #FOROTHERMORE,” which is currently on view at the MCA until October 2, 2022. 🟥 This is the first time these couture pieces will be exhibited, and the DuSable Museum is the first Museum in the world to ever exhibit Nick Cave’s or Jack Cave’s fashion designs. 🟨 The Color Is pays tribute to Black aesthetics and innovation throughout history, drawing its influence from Ebony Fashion Fair, NYC Ballroom Culture, and Black cinema - the iconic Emerald City scene from the 1978 film The Wiz. ⬛️ Curated by Danny Dunson @legacybros -Director of Curatorial Services for @dusablemuseum ⚫️ Image: Fashion by Nick Cave @nickcaveart Photographer @_lyndonfrench_
