Gotta talk about these girls real quick. Five of these girls, Sky St. Louis, Kapri Parry, Kaylee Ellsworth, Hayden Parry and Sutton Persichina, broke (more like obliterated) the existing school record, that was set last year, on Saturday morning at the Liberty Bell invite. Between the five of them they went 1733, 1743, 1757, 1757 and 1820. This is a meet the team runs every year so it’s very easy to compare from years past. This group of girls, and those that surround them, bought in from the very moment we began working together 20 months ago. This was a team that had not been ranked in the top 10 in the state since 2007, and they now very likely rank among some of the best teams in the entire country. It has been one improvement after another for all of them. The greatest thing about this team is that they run for each other. They understand that their successes together are far greater than their successes apart. Sky St. Louis is now the school record holder, with a time of 1733, and she is only a freshman. Her time on Saturday made her the #4 all time fastest freshman female in the state of Colorado. Belief in yourself, when paired with belief in each other, can lead to some truly beautiful outcomes.
