Such an honor to perform for the @recordingacademy Atlanta Chapter yesterday... lemme tell u about the beautiful coincidences the universe lined up for me. This was already such a full circle moment to begin with because before I was born, I was in my mommy’s belly when she was at the 38th Annual Grammy Awards for being nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in ‘96. Then I meet THE legendary Dreammm and King PUSH, my Taurus brothaaa who I found out I share a birthday with (only icons are born May 13, I don’t make the rules). So after I get off stage a man comes up to me and says he wants to introduce me to his girlfriend who he thinks I might know... I IMMEDIATELY recognize this woman from my baby pictures and I flip outttt! This was my mother’s midwife, the first person to ever hold BABY TATE before she was ever “Baby Tate”. How wild is that? I love moments like this & I’m so happy I could share it with my family.
