Happy 106th birthday to the National Park Service (NPS). Another year older today, another inch taller. Since 1916, the NPS has grown to include 423 sites that tell complicated, important, diverse, and challenging stories about our nation. The NPS preserves and shares the memories of people, places, and significant events – we don’t just manage stunning scenery. But, stunning natural beauty we do indeed have in buckets. For example, we have 40,000 acres of old-growth redwoods here - the tallest trees in the world.
