For SHIM the future art fair is about seeing artists, art groups, and art events that had never before been deemed worthy of inclusion. The art world is an enormous spectrum of thoughtful, inspired, and weirdly joyful individuals that should be made visible at these “apex” cultural events. The work of Andy Li is a great example of this, and part of what we will host during @aquaartmiami this coming November 30-December 4. The artist works with an old fashioned industrial embroidery machine and cast off samples of marine fabric to create art works that can be installed as “painting-like” objects or displayed as flags (or warnings?) inside or out.
