If you get the chance to experience Courtney Stephens' 'Terra Femme: Women and the Travelogue Archives' 2021 film - with either a recorded or live narration - drop everything and go have a most magical hour. On one level, it is simply the experience of seeing haunting archive footage from the early 20th century made by traveling women. It's so thoughtfully collated into a sequence of "chapters" that all of the subtleties and subtexts of this film cache are memorably present. @courtcolt's narrated analysis is gripping and simultaneously acute and empathetic - something that could have been a tinge saccharine or evasive is not, just salient and quietly epic. #terrafemme
