Hi guys, I struggled with viral pneumonia followed by having Covid-19 in the month of February. Never wanting to give up, I did my best to recover and compete in the US. The US was a slow start, and I could feel the aftermath of being ill for so long. I started feeling better towards Miami, although I was struggling to push for more than two games at a time. However, in Charleston, I felt slow, robbed of energy, and struggled on more extended plays. Further investigation revealed an inflammation of my heart. My body needs rest and a staged return to physical effort. I have had to make the very difficult decision to withdraw from the Billie Jean Cup and be out of competition for the coming weeks. The Billie Jean Cup holds a very special place in my heart, and it has always been an extraordinary feeling playing for my country. 🇷🇴 I look forward to coming back stronger than ever.
