When @divazappa told me she was pulling her cards for the year ahead, I was like - oh yeah! In all the wonderful and terrible chaos of the past year, I’ve gotten away from myself a bit. Pulling cards for the year seemed like a great way to get back on the witchy horse. . . . I’m so glad I did!! When pulling this many cards, I like to leave it up to the shuffling to stack them up. So I shuffled a bunch, reminding the cards - ok, I am just gonna cut you and then set you in piles, so order up how you want to be! - then I did what I promised. I cut the deck in two, put it back together with the bottom half on top, then cut it into three piles and chose a pile. Then I drew twelve cards off the top of that pile and set them in order, one for each month of 2023. . . . After that, I noted the cards in my tarot journal, first in a list, then one every half page leaving space to write notes on how the month went and how it related to the card. . . . And now I am not only excited to leave this year behind and step into a new one, I feel prepared. I have a little personal map to guide me through. . . . I laughed when I set down the card for April. In March I will finish Winter quarter of full time grad school AND release Tarot of Tales AND turn in my next book (Your Tarot Guide, out Fall 2023!) which I have only just started. You’re goddamn right I’m gonna need to let go and just be in the moment. Cards, you know me well. . . . Thanks again Diva for being an incredible and inspirational friend and thanks to all you witches and magicians out there using your powers for the good of all beings. It’s working. It’s always working. . . . Cards from Elemental Power Tarot by me, illustrated by the great @rohan.daniel.eason Original drawings from the deck are available on his website rohaneason.com . . . #happynewyear #tarot #yearahead #magick #witchery
