I am so proud of this young woman. And excited for her! She’s off to explore & immerse herself in another culture, w/a group of like minded teens & their leaders. They’ll experience the natural wonders of this country & the inner world of themselves, as they connect with local communities & families. They’ll be doing a variety of service projects, including building a kitchen for a small village’s community center, & constructing a fence around a soccer field( Note hardhat on backpack :-). They’ll create other self initiated service projects to benefit the children & other members of the community. They’ll also spend time exploring the rainforest from the ground, & up in the tree canopies, national parks on several coastlines, rappelling waterfalls, learning to surf, whitewater rafting, and sharing their experiences, challenges, & goals w/each other at the end of each day. I asked my daughter what she was most excited about, and she said, “The 16 days I’ll live with my host family.” Families in the small village they’ll be working in will each host 2 student travelers, giving them the opportunity to really experience the #PuraVida of #CostaRica . Te bendigo mi hija ! Pippi and I will miss you so very much, but I am thrilled for your adventures, & can’t wait to hear all about them when you return home.
