This painting is a Self portrait ( birthday portrait #64 )with my mother and channeling the great Gorky paintings of the same subject. Fortunately for me I could make mine while taking to my mom on FaceTime during the lockdown. Gorky tragically made his from a photo of himself with his deceased mother.
