“Great wine is made by the details,” @cristianatiberio told me. Probably about time some wine made it to the grid. A couple of weeks ago @fineandrarewines had a relatively quick tasting with Cristiana Tibero – and a slightly longer conversation. That evening we were hosting a dinner at @theconnaught with her, showing every vintage produced of Fonte Canale. More than that, we had a handful of vintages of her Pecorino, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo and verticals of her Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colle Vota and Archivio. In about a year I’ve gone from never having heard of Tiberio to seeing the name everywhere - and it was amazing to have a chance to taste through verticals of the wines and delve into the project with Cristiana. Fonte Canale is the unashamed star, but I was blown away by the Pecorino and Cerasuolo - both category-defying expressions that have proven they can age. Glorious.
