I saved this little guy for last. 🐦 It was an entirely different painting at one point: a face, then it became flowers. And then this magpie sort of spoke to me like a wise old guide. 🎵 And I was thinking magpie...magus... he became a magician or sentry, whispering to put a bunch of birds in my paintings. And the thing about birds is that they’re so obnoxious and cacophonous, and omnipresent, ubiquitous, all over, high and low, near and far, in out and through, anywhere and everywhere , day and night, whenever and wherever... and they’re also mostly invisible little fuckers. - #themagus #johnfowles @maki_gallery_tokyo
