100K - I’m honestly quite speechless. I’m not sure if many of you are aware, but this second business of mine was born out of quite a negative experience. Covid resulted in so many Victorian businesses being forced shut and physically unable to trade for such a long time, over a year with restrictions affecting my catering business. Now, just to be clear, I’m really not trying to encourage the violins to come out to play for my sob story. I consider myself lucky and feel grateful every single day, including during the pandemic. But it would be a lie to say that not being able to physically run my business and the challenges that came with being forced shut for such a long time (financially & emotionally) didn’t have a huge impact on me. I also had Penelope about 8 months after all of this began, so a stressful pregnancy didn’t help either. The point of my rant above is this. In July 2021, I felt pretty defeated. I didn’t know what the future held for my catering business and I was absolutely exhausted with having a young second child. I just wanted to feel joy again. And when I thought about the things that made me happy and put me in my flow state, apart from my family & friends, cooking and recipe creation sprung straight to mind. I learnt how to use a professional DSLR camera for 6 months and in February of this year decided “I’m really going to give this Wholesome By Sarah passion/idea a red hot go”. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be welcoming 100k people to my community over the next 7 months. Thank you for being here. You deciding to stick around has opened doors of opportunity for me which I feel truly excited about & I’m extremely grateful for. I love that my recipes are helping you and inspiring you to throw that apron on. The kitchen is one of my happy places. I hope I’m helping others to try and experience a little part of this and make that daily dinner grind somewhat more enjoyable. From the bottom of my heart, I’m so appreciative that you’re here.
