Okay, I adore Winston-Salem. Just returned from Bookmarks’ Festival of Authors and Books - where I hung out w/incredible writers and readers, and ate every pastry sold at Camino’s Bakery (chef’s kiss)! Big thanks to @bookmarksnc for inviting me to chat with superstar Taylor Jenkins Reid at the sold-out opening ceremony (how our talk pivoted from the art of developing powerful female characters to Rinna vs. Kathy Hilton, I don’t know, but both matters are IMPORTANT) - and to speak on the (surprisingly rowdy!) “Book Club Favorites” panel with TJ Klune, Brendan Slocumb, Andrew Sean Greer, and Anne Bogel. Plus, I visited Winston Salem State University to speak with whip-smart English/Comms majors about writing! My fave part was the student who chatted me up afterwards, while keeping an eye on her phone...as she was on the waiting list for a @telfarglobal bag. Relatable, sis! 😂👜 Such a TIME.
