King Charles III has been formally proclaimed monarch at the Accession Council this morning at the historic meeting at St James's Palace, the first in history to be televised. Charles signed the oath after the Accession Council confirmed him as a King. He signed the proclamation oath along with his wife the Queen Consort and son, The Prince of Wales. Afterwards, Charles addressed the Privy Council for the first time as King where he paid tribute to his "beloved" mum and approved a Bank Holiday for her funeral on September 19th.
