#RememberAfghanistan. On this day last year, scenes of people escaping at Kabul airport showed the terrifying reality of what it means to flee. No one chooses to be a refugee. But we can choose to respond with compassion, to show solidarity with people in the way we hope someone would for us. 12 months on from the Kabul evacuations, the world has all but forgotten Afghanistan. Attention has rightly been given to Ukraine, but we believe we should treat Afghans with the same respect and open heartedness shown to refugees from Ukraine.
